A 2-Bay Cart-Lodge Style Oak Garage designed to consist of a more substantial and detailed oak structure than the conventional kits that are available. The frame was erected on a lime based brick plinth, and the roof consists of clay peg tiles

A severely rotten sole-plate and an alteration to the window opening had meant that little of this section of the frame was left intact. However, new oak was carefully spliced into the remaining sections of sound studwork, and new oak studs inserted where previously missing and a new sole-plate added. Lime plaster was applied inside and out to match the existing renderwork

Water penetration and a hard cement render had left little of the orignal lower section of the frame intact along two of the four elevations. Also, the original brick plinth had been replaced with solid concrete! All cement and concrete was removed, and the oak frame rebuilt. Sheeps Wool insulation was inserted in the voids and a chalk based Lime Plaster applied inside and out.

Previous poor atempts at repair and continued water ingress meant that repairs/replacement were carried out to the lower studwork and sole-plate In other areas, face patching of the surface of the timbers was also caried out where the timber had decayed.
